An Online Course to help you gain a deeper understanding of causes of Chronic Diarrhoea in dogs, Common Treatment options and Dietary Management.

Online Seminar –  3+ hours.

Links to watch will be sent to you after your purchase along with a PDF of the Slides from the course so that you can make notes on them if you like!

$41 USD, includes seminar slides sent to you in PDF.

(This course originally ran on 7th September 2020 and was filmed ‘live’. The course was extremely popular and requests were made to make these courses available after the date – so here they are!)

Who is this course for? This course is primarily intended to provide further information on specific conditions to owners, but other pet and veterinary professionals are also welcome.

IBD is a challenging condition to diagnose and manage. There are many causes of diarrhoea in dogs and sometimes it’s not easy to know which your dog has.

For dogs with severe IBD, multiple allergies/intolerances, chronic diarrhoea and weight loss are common, and sometimes it’s hard to know what to do for the best.

Many owners want to take a more active and knowledgeable role in their dog’s health. This course is designed to help you do this by giving you as much information as possible on how we (general practice vets) investigate chronic diarrhoea, and the options for dietary management including exclusion diets.

Also:

Common causes of chronic diarrhoea (which one does my dog have?)
Giardia, Campylobacter and Salmonella – did they cause the diarrhoea? Or did the diarrhoea cause them…..?

Commonly used tests in chronic diarrhoea and what they mean – Basic biochemistry and haematology changes, B12, Folate, Cobalamin, TLI.

Diet types – kibble, tins, cooked, raw foods – the pros and cons.

Homemade Exclusion diets…. Choosing the right ingredients for the best chance of success

Timing of your exclusion diet and plan your reintroductions

Other nutritional factors in the management – loss of water soluble vitamins, anti-inflammatory modifications in fatty acid profiles, and why increased levels of zinc may be vital.

Links to other conditions – IBD links to atopic dermatitis and pancreatitis…

Pre-booking is highly recommended – LIVE has been chosen instead of pre-recorded so that there are opportunities for questions, but it does mean that places ARE limited to ensure that everyone can ask questions if they need to.

(Please note – whilst there will be plenty of time for questions, please remember that (as I am not your dog’s own vet) I can only discuss general options and cannot make specific recommendations for your companion)
